Partygaming Losing Its Leading Position?
The poker boom seems to begin to decrease at PartyGaming. Despite the fact that the gambling group is able to indemnify mainly their lost poker revenues by means of increasing income from online casino and bingo gambling activities.
PartyGaming Plc is one of the leading online gambling companies, famous for its poker room, PartyPoker. The headquarters is in Gibraltar. The company was founded in the year 1997. Before passing the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act by the North American Congress, PartyGaming was the biggest online poker company in the world. But in spite of the fact that the company’s total quantity of active users has decreased after losing its US players, the company keeps growing.
Since late April the overall gross revenues of PartyGaming group have fell down, and though the company expected some drop-off just at this time they said that the fall has been a little larger than expected.
The company accused Euro 2008 and keen competition from operators who can still allow the US players in on their websites. Since the US suppressed poker sites that are based outside the USA, PartyGaming has lost its leading position in the online gambling market. Such poker rooms as iPoker and Full Tilt Poker have overtaken it in recent months whereas PokerStars has doubled the number of users.
The strong performance in casino has been caused by a growing amount of players and up-selling from the poker websites. Thanks to lower marketing costs and operational efficiencies Clean margins of EBITDA are expected to be considerably higher than last year.
