Survey on UK Online Casino Gambling

A new survey on internet gambling is conducted to determine the growing phenomenon of online gambling and its outcome for the public. British online casino players are the latest players to have been examined to conclude on their relationships with the internet-based gambling world. This latest study on British internet casino players, which was commissioned by the Gambling Commission of the UK, has been released at the moment. ICM Research carried out this study, which examined eight thousand adults from June of 2007 to this March.

The main conclusions concerning the new study show that about 9% of the eight thousand surveyed adults said they had taken part in one type of internet gambling as a minimum in the preceding month. Most of these casino players were in general male than female, and they were between 18 – 34 years old. On the other hand, the survey found out that if the most popular National Lottery is left out, the online casino players’ percentage in the UK is decreased to about 5%.

The British Gambling Commission has just announced that one more study of the British internet casino gambling habits will be carried out in 2010. This project will be based on their two valuable studies of the UK internet casino gambling problem in 1999 and 2007. The Commission would like to engage academics and some other interested groups who have expertized gambling prevalence in this study. They hope to attain a deeper insight into this new and quickly growing phenomenon having effects on lots of people every year.
